Trick or Treating

The boys went trick or treating last night. They had a great time. At dinner, before we went out, we talked about how we are not celebrating the "ungodly" things of Halloween, such as witches, scary things, etc. But we were participating in the generosity of our friends and neighbors by passing out candy and collecting candy from others. We also talked about how fun it was to dress up in costumes. So off they went. The only hiccup was the every single person thought my Ethan was a girl. Every person. By the time it was over, Ben and Luke collapsed on the kitchen floor begging for something to drink and their beds. Luke was pouring with sweat as it was about 80 degrees outside.

Here's Ethan, protesting the torturous activity of putting a costume on.

But he came around when he learned that he would be allowed to go outside and people would be giving him candy.

And of course my super hero big boys. The Flash and the Green Lantern.

Oh my gosh- these pictures are AWESOME. Hey- and even out of costume people think Gray is a girl. Even with boy clothes on, but oh well. I guess it's because they are such BEAUTIFUL children!!

Mark enjoyed passing out candy when we came home, but refused to give to anyone in a spooky mask. I can't blame him!

I can't see the pictures yet, maybe later!

80 degrees and trick or treating just doesn't seem right yet does it? Glad they enjoyed it and that was a wonderful way to explain Trick or treating.

JC got confused as a girl when he was that age. Must me the blonde locks and gorgeous eyes!

They are so cute! Your boys are so funny with the whole super hero thing, and the Nemo costume...very sweet.

Oh yeah, the whole torturous costume thing really can be an issue, I know! (See my blog!) It's fun though, and I have to say that each year, hubby and I go around again about whether or not to participate. It gives us an opportunity to talk about some things and with Cody in school, he has to learn about it anyway! I'd rather we address it now and help him understand our viewpoints. Have a great day! Happy November!

Trick-or-treating in 80 degree weather sounds great to me! The boys had to wear clothes under their costumes and they took jackets along in case they got too cold. Either way, they had fun, but they were ready to go before they were through the whole neighborhood (the second one they went to) with their grandma.

How cute they looked. Hard to imagine it being so hot on Halloween. At least it didn't rain last night and everyone enjoyed the fall weather.

Ethan's Nemo costume is too cute! Your bigger guys look like they are ready to set out and save the world.

Great perspective on Halloween, BTW.

I love that pic of Ethan running down the sidewalk. Great shot with the sunset; I love the burst at the top! Now, because I love you and your fabulous self, and value your opinion, and also need help, come visit me and tell me what to do with my hair please! XOXO

Awwww. I am so glad you made the decision last year to start letting them dress up and get some candy. I bet they loved it. Posting pics of batgirl today!!!
Those costumes are so cute! We have the same kind of conversation before we go out for halloween. This year was the first that my oldest choose an untraditional costume. It wasnt really scary but it was pretty dark!

80 degress? Yikes - I honestly can't imagine! Here, we usually get treated to -10 C with wind although this year we were spoiled and got +4C which kind of felt like 80 degrees to us. :)

I think that the boys are cute!! If it makes you feel any better, Halloween was the ONLY day that people knew for sure that Masyn was a girl. Even if dressed in pink, people usually tend to call her a boy which my son gets a little protective about.

How fun! We don't have halloween in Belgium although it starts a bit. Maybe some day I can go for trick or treat with my children.

How CUTE!! My 4 year old just walked in and yelled "FLASH!! GREEN LANTERN!!" I don't know many other kids who know those super heroes so I think those costumes are AWESOME! Where did you get them?? I might have to think about those next year! We might add the baby as Batman and hubby as Superman to round out the JLA. Wonder if that means that I have to be Hawkgirl or Wonder Woman! LOL! Anyway, cute cute cute pics!!
