The town is now red.

Well, these last few days have been fun for me. Being back in Indiana has provided lots of opportunities to go out as well as plenty of babysitters. Two things I lack in Ohio.

Thursday night Scott took me out for my birthday. We went to a nice restaurant for dinner and then to see the movie Holiday. We haven't been out like that since just before the baby was born (in May)! So it was super nice just to sit and have a nice dinner uninterrupted. It was good to be reminded what it's like to eat at a restaurant and no one at the table ordered chicken nuggets or fries!

Friday I had my dinner with the blogging friends and that was great fun!

Saturday I met up with some more friends. Ladies only, no children. We went to one of my favorite restaurants (House of Kobe) and just chatted away. Women really have alot to say when they have a captive adult audience!

Sunday for lunch I am meeting my friend who I would consider to be my best friend (ugh, that sounds so 3rd grade to say). I'm pretty open with everyone but she's the one who I'd tell anything to. You know, that one friend that you can talk to about how awful your period and your parents are in the same 10 min gap. The one that's just your friend. She's not someone that's close because your in the same stage of life that she's in but just because she's your friend. When I hang out with her I feel like it's just about her and I and our friendship. Which is nice.  I think I feel the same way about my sister in law but she's family.

Do you have different groups of friends? I was thinking about all that I was doing this weekend and I felt very blessed. I've got a group of friends that are bloggin, breast-feeding, baby making machines like I am. We are very close and I enjoy them so much. Then I have another friend, we connect because our parenting styles are so similar. We both home school, and our spiritual lives are on similar paths. I love her and I don't know what I'd do without her.  I have other friends who have children that are older, but I am connecting with more now as Ben gets older. Other friends are there because we are Christian women who see the world through the same glasses. Some are friends because they've been friends for a long time. I have different friends for different reasons and they all share a part of me that another one doesn't. I know that in life you are lucky if you have one good friend. I have many. I am truly blessed.

I just want you all to know that I love and appreciate you all so much. You all mean the world to me in very different ways! I thank God for you and how you have touched my life. I hope I have touched yours too! So to, Trisha, Lisa M, Lisa R, Steph, Sarah, Amy, Jen, Adrienne, Joan, Lori, and now Robin, Allie, Ashlee, and Chris, thanks for your friendship! I know I am one of the lucky ones because of you!

Last Night

Last night Some bloggin friends got together. It was great fun! Almost all of us had a baby in tow.  Five moms, and all of us were moms o only boys! Yep, not a daughter in the group! It was Steph, and Lori, and Robin, and Ashlee. At one point I noticed that three of us were nursing our babies, at the next table was a group of young, single men! I had to laugh! We were all covered up and I'm pretty sure they never even noticed we were there, let alone nursing but never the less, there we were,  taking care of our babies.

I never thought I would be that woman, the one who just nursed her baby at the table at a restaurant. We talked about this a little last night. With my first baby, I was so self-conscious that I would just pump milk while at home so that I could give the baby a bottle while we were out. With my second, he never had a bottle but I would always go nurse in the car or go somewhere else. With Ethan, I'm more open, more relaxed. Depending on the company I'm in, I'll still go to another room, or go out to the car but in a situation like last night, five moms who either are nursing or have nursed their babies, there is no reason why I can't sit at the table, covered up with my nursing apron, and feed the baby. I've never had anyone ever give me any grief for nursing anywhere but I have heard of others who have. Bathrooms are so disgusting. I wait until the last possible moment to go there myself, I'm NOT feeding my baby there! Anyway. Here we are from left to right, Lori, Robin, Steph, and Ashlee. I'm sitting down in front.Blogger Girls Out 2

When I got home, my sister in law came in and have me the sling she bought me for my birthday! I got this one. I love it! I am so excited about wearing it!

5 Things You May Not Know About Me

Well, I was tagged by my good bloggin buddy Steph

on my b-day so here it goes...

Five things you may not know about me...

1) When I was a kid my family had a nick name for me, "Lynny Poo Poo Brains" I'm not sure how it came about other than my middle name is Lynn.

2) I love to cook from scratch. I like to buy all the ingredients and then slice, dice, mix, and mash to make a wonderful meal for my family.

3) I went bungee jumping once as a teenager, while on vacation. I made terrible fun of a man at the top who was scared to jump, so as it became my time I then had no other choice but to jump- it was awesome!

4) I have never had a broken bone, never needed stitches, and never needed surgery.

5) I have this dream to one day make enough money to take a handful of friends on a trip to New York to be dressed by Stacy London (from What not to Wear) and then take them all on a wild shopping spree ending with a day at the Elizabeth Arden Spa.

P.S. I had a great date with my husband! It was our first date with no children in 8 months! We had a wonderful dinner out and then saw the movie Holiday. It was so cute with only a few "bad" words. Can't wait to see some of my blogger friends tonight!

It's My Birthday!

Well, I'm the big 28 today. That's right, 28 on the 28th. Woo Hoo! Hubby and I are going out tonight without the kiddo's! Double Woo Hoo!

My awesome sister-in-law got me a sling to hold my baby Ethan! Can't wait for it to come in the mail!

Hubby got me a beautiful bracelet to match the ring he got me last year, and oh yes, he went to Jared! Ah, he's so good to me!

Got my awesome proofs back from our nursing photo shoot. I'm not gonna post those on my blog but for those of you hanging out with me on Friday night I'll bring 'em and you can see Ethan and I in all our glory!

Oh yeah, hubby also got me the iPod nano for Christmas! I've finally stepped into the 21st century! I never could see much use for one before- there is never a time when I can put earphones on and tune out all the other sounds in my world. Well, now we have one of those docs in our living room that plays the iPod so I can download my own playlists and listen to it like a CD player. I feel like a cool kid now!

Shout out to Steph on the b-day card. I loved it! Thanks! That was so clever sending it to my in-laws (where I am right now).

New Jammies, gift cards, and dvd's pretty much wrap up the birthday loot. In short, I love my birthday!

P.S. Happy Belated b-day to my brother Nathan, he turned 18 on the 25th! I can't believe your 18! That's him with me at our b-day party.Photo 28.jpg
