Do it all over again

Yesterday's first day of school went great. Just fabulous. By 6:30pm all of my children were falling asleep. By 8PM everyone was tucked away in bed and I realized that we had to do this all over again the next day, and the next day, and the day after that for the next, oh 17 years or so. Great.

Ben is so much like me. It's only day 2 of kindergarten and he's telling me he's too tired to go back to school. Not only was I thinking that I'm too tired to take him to school, but I felt like I was too tired to go to school every day while I was a student.

I do enjoy just having Ethan around. I noticed that it was so quiet around the house and I actually got some things done! Not too much though because Ethan has decided that he MUST be at my side every moment while his big brothers are gone. I am fighting the urge to lay around and snuggle with Ethan watching tv while the big boys are gone instead of actually getting off my butt and doing something.  Our new morning routine has made it a bit more difficult for me to blog, but it's only day 2 of our new schedule so I'm sure I'll get it all worked out soon.

Here's to a great school year.

I REMEMBER YOU SAYING YOU WERE TOO TIRED TO GO TO SCHOOL! All you Neely's/Banes must need an average of 14 hours sleep or something a night! haha
I can relate to the feeling that you are too tired to go to school; I'm sure I mentioned that to my mom two or two hundred times in my school years. In fact, right now I'm having trouble deciding whether to remain firmly planted at the computer or to get up and get something accomplished while Little is napping. I think I'm just too tired to clean. :-)

Glad to hear everyone had a good first day of school!

I remember feeling the same way last year when Matt started K. It was a bit overwhelming even with him not in the house for a few hours. Your routine will fit nicely soon enough...just wait!

Yesterday I kept thinking to myself "Geez, it's quiet around the house!" And to make matters worse one time I actually called out my son's name because I thought he had done something forgetting I had done it! I need help!!

So glad it went well! You can snuggle a few times! He deserves it, right?

I was always too tired for school myself... probably why I never finished college!

You will get into a routine. And I'm not ready for school to start tomorrow, I don't like when the boys are gone, but all day with just me and the baby? That will be nice. I'm sure we'll be snuggled up on the couch too. Atleast for the first couple of days!!!

I say snuggle away! He will be going to school too before you know it! Although, I am sure you need to take a few minutes to get the must-do list done! :) Don't rush yourself. Your new rhythm will come soon!

Blessings to you!

My kids inherited that "not so much of a morning person" gene from me AND their father.......lucky for them we're a bit "non-traditional" ":-) New habits/routines always take us a while too. That is the reason I've been dreading starting school with the kids. Because I know that once we start I have to be consistent and not lazy about enforcing it. UGH!

Wow. I can't imagine how different these past two days must have seemed. What an amazing journey all of you are experiencing right now.

Its so hard when someone isn't nagging you about housework! Why don't you snuggle for a week or so?! :) Get use to the change and enjoy your peace and quiet!!! :) I'm sure you'll get a schedule down!
