BMV and other things

I was going to blog today about our experience at the FL BMV but I hate the BMV so much that even the thought of blogging about it was detestable. So, lets just say that $40.00 later, we both have FL drivers licensees.

I have found a new way to get my house picked up. I just tell the boys, "I want to take you to the pool but all the toys have to be picked up before we go." Abracadabra, the toys are all picked up within minutes and we are off to the pool. That is, after about 20 min of putting on sun block of course.

Speaking of sun block, I don't think I've ever showed you this picture before...

This is my little baby when he was 10 weeks old. We went to Hawaii. I was told that he was too young for sunscreen by our pediatrician. Even all the sunscreen bottles say only for babies 6 months and up. So, we didn't put any on him. We did buy him this little shade for babies that said it blocked both kinds of UV Rays. Hmm I guess they lied. We were very careful to keep him in his shade. The good news is, with some Aloe lotion he was fine in 2 days and he didn't act like it bothered him at all. After this I decided I'd take my chances with the sunscreen.

Stay tuned tomorrow for a Wordless Wednesday Peanut Butter and Jelly Boats Milestone.

Well, I can't see the picture (just an x) but I can imagine. I always figured the sunscreen deal went like this: we KNOW the sun causes cancer. They aren't sure about sunscreen. I was always willing to take my chances as the sunburn was a definite danger. You know?

Hope you're loving your new home. We were just in Orlando, and had considered going to the Tampa side (that's where you are, right?) but I wouldn't have been able to contact you anyway as I didn't have a computer!! doh...

ouch!

I totally love the bribe cleaning. JC got 4 choclate chips each time he completed a task last night. All toys were off the floor, books put a way and he even vaccumed. Oh, and helped mommy bake a cake. Who knew that the secret to getting this accomplished was in toll house choclate chips. I wish i could bribe him with a pool visit though!

Poor baby! Oh! I wonder if any of the mineral sunscreens or all natural ones would be safe now for babies?

And cleaning bribes are the BEST of all bribes in my opinion!

Oh, your picture isn't showing up for me! :(

I think we all have moments like your picture -- we just don't admit it!!!

And cleaning bribes -- the best! All I have to say is "clean your toys and we'll go to the park" and off they go in a mad rush. Love it!

Bribes don't work with Bubbie yet. Although, he was very good at Target yesterday after I promised candy! Hmmmm! Maybe he is old enough!!!! Anyway.....sorry your DMV is awful! I've heard horror stories about SC!

OMGosh! Poor little baby, I would have cried! I know it's all in the past though. It is a hard call to make about sunscreen when they're soo little!

Our Peditrician told us that it's ok to put sunscreen on them even under 6 months ... she told us that they put that "don't use on babies under 6 months" line b/c some moms will think that they can put it on and take the baby out for hours upon hours just because they have on sunscreen. She said to put it on just not on the hands so they don't eat it and keep them in the shade if you have to be out with them. She said that there's nothing in it that will harm them or that changes from 5 months old to 6 or 7 or older months. It's just so that people don't put it on and think that their kids are safe in the sun.

I-DOT, DMV, FL BMV - different names, but they all give me the willies! And every state is different!! In all three states we have lived in they require different stuff - which usually means multiple trips to the horrid place!!

And honestly, is the only requirement for working at those places to be cranky amd mean with no ability to smile??? I know a few people who should submit resumes!!!

Why are we calling it bribes, it is incentive....it is a reward for a job well done!!!! When we go to work we get paid and when we work extra hard we get a "bonus" why can't it just be a job well done!!! Always find out what inspires your children to get the job done and use it!! It does change from time to time, the waterpark never changed for us though.. clean and eat and we'll go to the waterpark for two hours, I am not spending any money we are just going to play, all the chores still got done. Now we are on to an allowance, a little different, but mostly works. Keep changing with them as they need, you will enjoy them so much more!!!!!!!!!
