This is Going to make me VERY unpopular

I am so sick of THAT movie. You know the one, with SJP and her 3 little friends living in The City. I'm sure it's quite funny and that their clothes and shoes are fabulous. BUT ENOUGH ALREADY!

My problem is that it's everywhere. I can't turn on the tv without hearing about it. Which would be fine but I have very small children in my house. These children have been told that Sex means gender. I'd like to keep it that way for a little while. But everytime we turn on the tv, there it is. That movie and that word over and over and over again. Want to watch the morning news shows? Can't cuz they're talking about THAT movie and the parties for it people are having and the crazy lines people are standing in. Want to watch a talk show? Can't cuz their interviewing anyone even remotely associated with that movie every. single. day.

This was a tv show on HBO. Late night cable television. Not the kind of stuff that's appropriate for daytime television with your small kids around. I'm just saying, we get the point, you've made a movie. Now be quite and go away for cryin' out loud so I can get the dang weather report without having to make sure my kids are out of the room first. Until then, I guess Moose A. Moose will have to take the place of Matt Lauer.

I know. I know. I KNOW! (Dealing with the same stuff here.)

Enough is enough. I agree.

Oh my goodness. We haven't even talked about the word sex yet but so glad you are giving me the heads up to just say it's a gender... why didn't I think of that already? We never have the tv on around the kids (not that it's something we're activists about but I'd just rather be at the computer than tv!)

I loved the show, loved the movie but I do have to agree about advertising it on the specific channels. I guess we haven't had the problem because we don't get to watch tv, only an hour of pbs and an hour of Disney.

I'm with you on this one! We also have said that sex is gender. But at almost 10 1/2 Monte is understanding a lot more these days then I wish he was.

Ugh! THANK YOU for posting this. I totally agree. ENOUGH! I never watched the show. Never had any interest in watching it and I DON'T CARE that they've made a movie OR how fabulous they must all look in their pricey clothes and shoes that real people can't afford.

Grr.

I really didn't even know this movie was coming out, let alone, out!! I heard someone mention it the other day and couldn't believe it is a movie, never saw the show and won't go to the movie! I really don't give a dang about this show or movie! Guess you could say I have had my nose stuck in everything but TV! And it sounds like that is a goooood thing!
Catching up, really your moving back, REALLY? To start a church REALLY?

I haven't seen much publicity/advertising for the movie. Maybe I just have not paid attention. I've never see the show, so I might just be oblivious. Of course, the TV never leaves disney, discovery kids, or noggin during the day.

I'm sick of it too. I'm just plain sick of all the coverage. I never got into that show or even wanted to so it just simply annoys me.
All the hype is pretty ridiculous. At the same time I feel like the last one on the planet to see it so I'm going post cosmo's soon. ;) But, I'd feel the same way with kids running around and it being promoted on TV all the time!
