Bad Words

As Ben gets more and more exposed to life outside this house, we have to explain and modify the things he sees and hears. Here's an example from last night at dinner...

B: So, can I say BROAD-way?

Me: Yes, that's the name of a road. You can also say broad to explain that something is wide. Like dad has broad shoulders. You just cannot say broad when you are talking to or about a woman.

B: Heh. (Huge smile) Dad, you have BROAD shoulders (giggle giggle).

Me: Very funny. Eat your chicken.

Oh, they are too funny. There is a certain word I'm trying to eliminate from this house... Actually a few I wouldn't mind never hearing again. What is it with boys and body functions & sounds???

BROAD was the bad word he picked up? who's he hanging out with - the Rat Pack?

It's not so much the words here, as it is the tone of voice. It just makes me want to yell at them to shut up. Wait, that's a bad word.

Ha Ha Ha Uncle Jared!

I think he picked it up from that new Indiana Jones Movie.

Caleb was just going over a few words with me yesterday to make sure if they were bad words or not. At least they're asking instead of just saying them.

I was wondering where he picked up a word like "broad" when speaking about woman. Uncle Jared's comment made me laugh out loud. I was thinking the same thing.
