It got me thinking
Steph has been posting about Jenny McCarthy's appearances on Oprah and 20/20. I saw the 20/20 episode. Then, the next day, I got my people magazine out of the mailbox, and there she was again, on the cover. It got me thinking about how so many people have issues today with their children. Either allergies, ADD, ADHD, asthma, and the list goes on. As I was thinking about this, I started thanking the Lord that my children have none of these issues. My littlest seems to have a small allergy to cows milk, but even that seems to be fading. Then I thought of the prayer that we say over our boys every night and I thought that I just had to share it with you.
Like the prayer we say over them before they go to school, we got this from various verses from the Bible. It started as something that my mother in law prayed over my husband and his brothers to help them get along better. We have added some to help my kids deal with sharing, nightmares, and other things. Feel free to insert your children's names where mine are to pray this over your children too.
Ben and Luke's angel's have charge over them to keep them in all their ways (Ps. 91:11) and nothing shall by any means harm them. (Luke 10:19) They love as brothers, tenderhearted and compassionate, forgiving one another, forbearing one another, they don't repay evil with evil or insult with insult but blessing, for to this they were called, that they might inherit a blessing. (I Pet. 3:8-9) For God has not given Ben and Luke a spirit of fear but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. (1 Tim 1:7) Ben and Luke do not love this world nor the things of it (1 John 2:15) they set their affections on things above, not beneath (Col 3:2). Ben and Luke prefer the needs of others ahead of their own (Rom 12:10) They are caring, sharing, loving, and generous.
