Planet Earth

It's Earth day again, which has us all thinking about living a little "greener." Living a greener life has been all over the tv this week. There have been great tips on Regis and Kelly, Oprah, The Today Show, the list goes on and on.

Probably the most green thing that we do is the use of gdiapers.  It's been said that disposable diapers take 500 years to biodegrade in a landfill. Gdiapers are great because they are flushable! According to the company, you can use them in your garden too! Weirded out by flushing diapers? You still can throw these away if you want, they'll take about 6 months to completely biodegrade. If you have a baby in diapers, check them out. We used to use Pampers Cruisers and the prices are about the same. We've been using them for a couple months now and we love them. P.S. They're VERY cute too, which, I'm a little embarrassed to say, is VERY important to me when choosing a diaper for my baby.

Tonight is the final episode of Planet Earth on The Discovery Channel. The kids and I haven't been able to see all the episodes but we've loved the ones we've seen. Check it out! You'll learn tons and it'll make you realize what an awesome planet we live on and want to do something to keep it green!

How have you made your life a little "greener"?

Thanks for the diaper idea! My husband and I are really tuned in being responsible citizens of the earth (my husband very much so, me when I can). The diaper dillemma always troubles me. I'll look into them.

Nice to "meet" you - I love the name of your blog!

I agree that those gdiapers are super cute! If I ever were to have another baby, I would definitely use them.

Hi there! I remember your post on the gdiapers not too long ago... I am very interested in trying them out on the next baby. They are very cool and chic looking! :) We haven't been able to catch Planet Earth. I think we end up watching something else at that time. The commercials look so cool! Have a great week!

Ok. You just made me spend over $100 to start up on Gdiapers... Way to GO!! :) They ARE cute. And I always did feel guilty pitching that disposable into the trash. I fully expect to make the transition slowly, but if I can even cut our disposables in HALF, I'll be thrilled! Of course, I am expecting them to be wonderful. I am very excited to try them out!

I have looked at these before and now am going to rethink them. I guess it is just more to start up and then once you get going it seems as though the cost is about the same as disposable diapers. thanks!
