Sleep, Sleep Wherefore art thou oh sleep?

The baby seems to be in some kind of pain. He had a fever for about two days. That's gone. Now he just seems to be in pain. Last night his "schedule" went a little something like this.

Midnight: Nurse, go to bed

1:30: cry till mom holds me back to sleep

2:45: Nurse, go back to bed

5:15: Nurse, go back to bed

7:30: Nurse, get up and play but cry at most of it 

This is the third night he has been acting like this. Some of it I think has to do with his boycott of all things edible except mamma's milk. But, I'd much rather he cluster feed during light hours. I was giving him Motrin to break his fever. I'm considering something a little stronger for bed time tonight. Maybe something from the Jack Daniels Aisle! Just Kidding, I would never do that!!!

Perhaps it's his teeth? Or a possible ear infection (I can tell when one of my kids has an ear infection because their nights go down the toilet).

Ha- we could be hanging out in the middle of the night this week, it sounds like! Same here- except last night it was CARTER and not the baby! (And I think that Jack Daniels would be more for ME- but again, we joke here!!!) First he had to go potty in the middle of the night, then was coughing, then fell out of bed. We are all so tired this morning!

Ha! Ha! I have definitely had those moments where you wish you could just "Sleep" through the awful middle of the night moments! Our 2 yr old has ritual of getting up at 2:30 AM every night and wanting to sleep in "Daddy's bed". Keep Benadryl close!!! J/K Love your blog!

I'd say you're dealing with an ear infection...could be teeth too. My baby's been the same and he had an ear infection and is cutting two teeth (eye teeth and canines, which I've heard are the hardest). I hope he's better soon! Wish we could all keep each other company on those nights...wouldn't that be awesome?

Sorry to be late reading this post....

When my boys act like this a day or two after a fever or cold strikes 9 times outta 10 it's usually an ear infection.

Hope everyone gets rest soon! I know how that goes.

I hope Ethan is feeling better soon. I was up with my 9 year old last night. His legs were hurting so bad he was in tears. Growing pains? Somethings are always a mystery. Let us know how he's doing. And I always heard if they have an ear infection they won't nurse....
