A New Year
Well, we got back home and all my little guys are sound asleep in their own beds. I don't have a Christmas tree to take down but I do have boxes and boxes of Christmas presents to find places for and I need to go grocery shopping. It seems a little daunting to find places for all of our new blessings but I can handle it. I am, after all, super-mommy! The grocery shopping will be a cinch. I got the book, YOU on a Diet, for Christmas and it has a shopping list in there already. So I'll just add some baby food and milk to the list and off I'll go.
That's right, I'm going to start a diet. I'm not making any resolution- I'm not a goal orientated person but I'd like to get back into my pre-Ethan size 4/6. I'd also like to ring in at 120 lbs max. Keep in mind that I'm 5'2" on a big hair day (which I rarely have)!
I took down the 2006 calendar. I was going through it, looking back at our crazy year. Last January I had several appts. to the midwife as I was pretty pregnant with Ethan. I also was an at-home consultant with The Body Shop so I had lots of things scheduled with that. It's funny how much your life can change in 12 months!
As we went to Scott's brother's house for New years Eve, we realized that we have all had a VERY big year! They got married and bought a Condo. Scott's brother Jared graduated from Taylor university. We had a baby, moved out of state and basically had a career change! We all took a family vacation to Hawaii to see Mark and Sarah get married! Wow! 2007 has a lot to live up to but already we are looking at a move to Florida, starting a new church, Scott will be in South Africa twice and Germany once. That's enough for me without all the day to day stuff.
So today all the post offices, etc. are closed in memorial to Gerald Ford. I don't know much about him at all, but for some reason I got pretty sad when I heard that he had passed away. We'll be praying for his family during their time of grief.
Here's praying that your 2007 will be the best year so far!
Did you know that Jan 2 is National Science Fiction Day? January is National Eye Care month, national oatmeal month, national thank you month, and hot tea month! And you thought that the festivities were over!
