The Big Top

Last weekend an old friend (the friendship is old, not the friend) took our kids to the circus. It was great fun! It was surprisingly long! This picture is of Ben, Luke, and my friend Jen's daughter Marissa (she's so cute!).  My Lukie (as you can see) had his moments of not liking all the fun. First, he had his ears covered anytime the ring master said anything in the microphone. I tried to get him to stop but then he arranged himself so that one of his ears was up against KidsatCircus.jpg
Ben's arm and the other against me. So, I gave up on that one!

At the end, there was a clown sketch. The clown was dancing and singing to "I like to move it move it." A Madagascar favorite for my boys. Then the Ring Master came out and through a series of events, destroyed the clowns CD player, yelled at the clown, and made the clown cry. Well, the clown wasn't the only one crying! Luke started crying too! "What if he comes to our house and breaks our music?!?!" There was my little 3 year old, at the circus, where joy and fun are supposed to abound, crying, HARD! Not to worry, the clown got it working again, went off stage singing and dancing to "I like to move it, move it" and all was well with the world again!

Uh, if you haven't guessed by now we are superman fans in our house!

For something different all together...I am fascinated by weather. Especially changes in weather. Today, it was (according to my car) 71 degrees outside. The reports were that it was going to get cold and rainy tonight. At about 4pm I was sitting at my computer and I looked our the window, here come the clouds. The window was open because it was so nice out, and I suddenly felt the cold breeze hit me. Just like that. I was in awe. One min. it's 71 and the very next min. the cold weather comes in and I was there to experience it! I realize this makes me sound pretty geeky, but, I am who I am.

One more thing- a complaint really. Today I took my boys to the mall to look for some outfits for our family picture (see Gearing up for Christmas) and to let the boys spend their allowance. I had the double wide stroller for Ben and Luke and Ethan in the snuggli. Which by the way everyone else in the mall had slings instead of snugglis and I WANT ONE! Anyway! I really had a hard time getting through stores! Because of the Christmas season everyone has extra stock out and it was very tight. The worst was the Discovery Channel Store! I couldn't get 3 feet in the door! The lady even came up to me and said, "you're probably not going to get back here, but I can bring something out if you like." No thanks lady! Here's a tip for you, people won't buy anything from your store if they can't get in it! Ok, I'm over it. Sort of!

That is so funny about the circus. You never know how kids are going to react! Our weather here has been nutty too. One minute no coat, the next, gloves! And the small aisle thing drives me crazy -- Traget is notorious for it!
